Joshua Ronan, 30, of Lansdale, was arrested without incident at a female friend's apartment on East Main Street in Lansdale, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele, Hatfield Police Chief William Tierney, and Lansdale Police Chief Michael Trail.

Ronan is charged with Criminal Attempt-Murder and other offenses in the Nov. 5, 2024, attack on Mark Miller, 41, of Lansdale, authorities said.

Victim Found Critically Injured

Hatfield police were called to a home on Cabin Road around 11 p.m. and found Miller unresponsive in the driveway with severe blunt-force trauma to his head and face. He was rushed to Grandview Hospital, where medical staff determined his injuries were life-threatening.

Miller suffered multiple broken facial bones, bilateral brain bleeds, and a broken scapula. Detectives later recovered a red brick wrapped in a balaclava mask from a vehicle used to drive Ronan away from the scene. The brick matched Miller’s injuries, investigators said.

Extensive Criminal History

Ronan, who has an extensive criminal history in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including charges for assault and drug offenses, had been on the run since the attack. He was also wanted in Cape May, NJ, for a drug violation.

Arraignment And Bail

Ronan was arraigned on Friday, Nov. 22, at 2:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Jodi Griffis, who set bail at $500,000 cash. He remains in custody and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024.
